8-Film British Cinema Collection V.2

For me, the bundle is worth it for "Love Among the Ruins" alone
Katharine Hepburn is one of my screen idols: From "African Queen" to "Lion in Winter," she always seemed to give us our best and make it look effortless.

I saw "Love Among the Ruins" twice in the local PBS channel (it is a made-for-tv-film, but of excellent quality) and didn't know there was a VHS copy. I've longed to see the film again for years.

Don't ask me what made me search for the film again, but there it was in a reasonably priced collection of British classics. I snapped it up in a heartbeat and good thing I did since it's temporarily sold out now.

So, what's the story? Katharine Hepburn plays Jessica Medlicott, a wealthy English actress who is accused of slighting a lover. She hires Sir Arthur Granville - Jones (Sir Laurence Olivier) as her barrister. Arthur's a man who knows well the sting of losing Jessica's affections, because he's been in the same situation. And, he's loved Jessica for years.

Jessica realizes she has to do...

Great collection.
Some of the movies in this collection are not available in individual copies here in the states. I have wanted the DVD of Love Amoung the Ruins for several years.

Review for 8-Film British Cinema Collection V2
I love all these movies, it is classic cinema at its best. The caliber of the actors and the story telling is superb.
