Heavy Metal Thunder: Movie

GREAT BAND
AWESOME DVD OF THE CAREER OF A VERY UNDERRATED BAND SAXON. THIS BAND WAS NEVER TRULY APPRECIATED IN THE UNITED STATES AS THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

Saxon
I have to say that there's was a lot of history done in doing this movie, well planned out with former and current players of this nwobhm beginners. Biff and co.went through some tough changes for a reason and there seems to be a calling for a reunion which I don't believe will ever happen. Anyway, great production, performances and sound from this heavy metal band, they seem to get better as time progresses!

Great content, US Blu-ray not 2 discs, same as import.
As of this writing there are 2 versions of this Blu-ray available on Amazon, an import that has been available since Dec. 2012 and the US version that became available in April 2013. I waited until the US version became available to buy this because in the product description it said the US Blu-ray was a 2 disc set. I scoured the internet to find out more but couldn't find any info regarding this. This seemed a bit strange to me but I thought hey, maybe the US is getting some exclusive content so I waited. I just got mine and sure enough it's a single disc.

I called Amazon customer service and all they could do was offer a replacement and take note of my complaint. I mentioned that the Blu-Ray cover insert was reversible, on the outside the UPC was different then the one on the inside. I also noticed that the inside of the cover insert had the green label with the German text and a #12 on it but not the outside. What I think is going on here is that they just flip the...

Shameless: The Complete Second Season

Best new show on T.V.! I love the Gallaghers!
Probably one of the best shows on TV. All the actors are great, even the kids, and we can all easily connect with their characters. It's almost impossible not to like this show. I also love the comedy resulted by all those hard situations they have to go through.

Shameless is one of the best shows to come along in a long time. Sometimes the depictions of life on America's edge are so real I can barely watch. While veteran character actors like Wm Macy and Joan Cusack deliver every week, the children in this show are phenomenal. Some of the best acting from young people I have ever seen. Lip breaks my heart - a brilliant kid with no blueprint for success. Karen and Fiona are two sides of the same coin - achingly vulnerable one minute and steel backbone the next. I have been Fiona at times in my life (as a single mother in poverty) the actress hits so many nuanced notes - brilliant. whoever writes this knows the alcoholic dance intimately and is fearless. Thank you to all...

Great show.
I love this show. All the characters are great. Hope the seasons continue. I have recommended it to others who like it too.

Because You Want To See What Happens Next!
NO SPOILERS:

When Howard Stern first moved to NBC NY, management tried to control him. He rebelled. Then the ratings came out. Most enlightening was that the people who proclaimed to despise Stern, actually stayed with the show longer than fans. The reason? "Because they wanted to see/hear what happened next!"

Shameless is a cornucopia of taboos that is marketing material for the Christian Right/Family Values Coalition! Homosexuality, drug and alcohol abuse, child neglect, frequent sex, criminality, etc.

Shameless is a dark comedy that is both shocking and funny with enough gratuitous sex and nudity to take the edge off a typical Sunday Night after having spent the lion share of the day watching football. There are also from time to time some real dramatic moments added to the mix. However, the main reason why I regularly tune in and have rated this *5 is because I find myself in the position of continually wanting to see "what happens...

Veronica Mars: Complete Seasons 1-3

Can't Help But Love It
For my three-hundredth review, I am pleased to give "Veronica Mars" five glowing stars. I will try my best to keep this review short, because I tend to gush when I talk about this show at length; so keeping things simple seems to be the best way to go about this.

THE PLOT: Veronica Mars is an intelligent young girl (Junior in High School when the series beings, Freshman in college when it ends) with a Private Detective father, a bad reputation, and a whole mess of ambition. She often takes on her own PI duties, sometimes looking into small things like petty theft for classmates, but she also gets serious when a bigger case hits close to home. The majority of VM episodes are standalone, but both of the first two seasons also form bigger stories, in that you can watch an episode by itself, but watching a whole season forms a bigger, coherent story line. The third season, instead, is divided into three sections, the first two being shorter mystery arcs, and the final five...

5 stars for the show, 1 star for the price
This is not a special collector's edition like the ones recently put out for Stargate SG-1 or the X-Files. This is only a bundle of the show's three season DVD sets. As it is you will pay about forty dollars more for these three seasons in a bundle than you would if you just bought the three seasons separately.

I hate to compare this show to Buffy, but it does merit comparisons in several ways - the snappy dialogue, a teenage girl as resourceful heroine, an overall season-long story arc, plus each individual episode has a mystery to be solved that is pretty much stand-alone. The final comparison is that Veronica Mars, like Buffy, seemed to lose something once Veronica went to college. Buffy had three great seasons before this happened, Veronica Mars only two. Since Veronica Mars didn't have the sizeable ardent core fan base and surrounding mythology that Buffy had when it went through its troubled college transitional season, and ratings were quite bad during its third...

Great series...WAY over priced.
Let me just say the first season of this show is fantastic! The second season lost it's focus, and the third was just frustrating. You should buy this series...just not in this set.

The list price and amazon price is about $75 too much! Seeing how you can buy it at target once and a while for $19 a season. $160 is WAY too much. Who ever picked it at that list price should be fired. $89-99 is more reasonable.
